Spirit Lake Lodge

The Unita Mountains

The lodge is nestled in the pristine alpine forest next to Spirit Lake. The elevation is 10,200 feet high in the Uinta Mountains of Northern Utah adjacent to the protected wilderness of the Uinta mountain range. In fact, the High Line Trail (a 100 miles of trail stretching across the entire Uinta range east to west) begins at the lodge as well as access to the extensive trail system of the wilderness area. There is also a Forest Service Campground across the creek from the lodge.

Adjacent to the lodge is a hiking trail loop of about 4 miles that takes you to Tamarack Lake, Jessen Lake, and Lily Lake and which continues into the Uinta Wilderness. Also nearby is a 6 mile round trip hiking trail to Daggett Lake. Additionally there are many lakes without specially maintained trails, lots of ATV routes, and 4-wheel drive roads. Flaming Gorge reservoir is about 40 miles to the east.

For wildlife in the area, we often have moose wandering through our meadow, as well as elk and deer. We have a large population of Rocky Mountain Yellow-bellied Marmots which are fun to watch as well as a few Snowshoe Rabbits who turn white in the winter and brown in the summer. A large bird population fills the woods and meadows around us.
